Surviving was just the start: my journey to thriving
Prior to creating Heddy Life, I worked with national corporate brands and niche enterprises. But under the surface of professional success, there were lingering effects of chronic violence I experienced as a younger adult. I was fortunate to receive therapy and emerged as a 'survivor.' But even years later I struggled with self-trust, confidence, and purpose. I had overcome adversity, raised a wonderful daughter, and had a successful career. Yet, I still felt directionless and unfulfilled.

During a period of self-discovery a shift occurred. I discovered the importance of proactively shaping my life and living it on my terms. I re-connected with what mattered most to me. When I lived in alignment with my values and priorities, life was smoother. I examined the influences that continued to define me and separated what was true from what beliefs could stay in the past. This was a pivotal time in my life. I was driven to leave my 20-year career to train with leaders in Immersive Coaching and Meditation. Now I apply both formal training and lessons from my own journey to help others with theirs.
"What tools do we have? What can we count on? You can count on yourself." — Patti Smith
Who are my clients?
My clients are courageous visionaries who want to reclaim their lives. Some have had limitations placed on them by society, family systems, and even by themselves. Ready to rewrite their narratives, they find refuge where their own voices can echo and invite new possibilities.
“You have to go the way your blood beats. If you don’t live the only life you have, you won’t live some other life, you won’t live any life at all.”
— James Baldwin
What inspires my work?
My practice is influenced by past and present thinkers, philosophers, and visionaries. My passion is the human experience—the juxtaposition of the discernible and the enigmatic, particularly in areas of personal empowerment, overcoming adversity, the inner critic, and life phases.
"We are not what other people say we are. We are who we know ourselves to be, and we are what we love. That’s okay."

— Laverne Cox‍
Education
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in American Ethnic Studies from the University of Washington. This program takes a critical look at race, ethnicity, and inequality within social and historical contexts of colonialism and immigration. I had the opportunity to examine complexities of class, sexuality, gender, global and transnational identities, and other intersections that create diverse human experiences. My education awakened me to chronic institutional racism, generational trauma, marginalization, and the many ongoing injustices in society. This is the foundation upon which I continue listening and learning every day.
"If we want a beloved community, we must stand for justice, have recognition for difference without attaching difference to privilege."
